This is a series of embroideries based on ideas and imagery from Victorian books for women: etiquette and beauty books, books on hobbies and ways women could earn a living. I play with ideas of what was traditionally thought to be appropriate life and behavior of women. I match up old fashion prints with antique scientific images of plants, animals and misc. weird objects. I like creating a more interesting and fun world for these women to experience.
